YITH WooCommerce Wishlist is one of the best-known wishlist plugins for WordPress. If you used it on a WooCommerce store and are moving to FluentCart, or starting a new FluentCart store, you’ll quickly find it isn’t an option.
Here’s why, and what to use instead.
Why YITH Wishlist won’t work on FluentCart
YITH WooCommerce Wishlist is, as the name says, a WooCommerce plugin. It’s built on WooCommerce’s products, variations and cart. FluentCart is a separate ecommerce plugin with its own data, so YITH can’t see FluentCart products at all.
That’s true for every WooCommerce wishlist plugin, not just YITH.
The FluentCart alternative: GoWishCart
GoWishCart is a wishlist plugin made only for FluentCart. The free version is on WordPress.org.
How the features map across
| What you used on WooCommerce | On FluentCart with GoWishCart |
|---|---|
| Add-to-wishlist button on product pages | ✓ Top or bottom of product details |
| Button on shop / archive pages | ✓ “Show Button on Shop Page” setting |
| Wishlist page | ✓ Created for you, or [gowishcart_wishlist] |
| Button shortcode | ✓ [gowishcart_wishlist_button] |
| Variation support | ✓ Exact size, color and price saved |
| Guest wishlists | ✓ Cookie-based, with optional email capture |
| Custom labels and icons | ✓ For both add and remove states |
| Price drop / back-in-stock emails | ✓ Included free |
| Email marketing automation | ✓ Four FluentCRM triggers |
| Multiple wishlists | Pro |
| Shared wishlists and social sharing | Pro |
| Wishlist analytics | Pro |
Check the current feature lists of both plugins if a specific option matters to you. Plugins change often, and this table is about GoWishCart’s features as of the date of this post.
What’s different
- Built for one platform. GoWishCart doesn’t try to support every ecommerce plugin. It works directly with FluentCart’s products, variations, pricing and checkout.
- Alerts are in the free version. Price drop and back-in-stock emails for wishlisted items are included without upgrading.
- FluentCRM is built in. If you use FluentCRM (made by the same team behind FluentCart), you get wishlist triggers for item added, item removed, price drop and back in stock.
Switching over
If you’re migrating an existing store:
- Note your YITH settings: button position, labels, which pages show the button, guest settings.
- Migrate your store to FluentCart (test on staging first).
- Install GoWishCart and match those settings in Settings → GoWishCart.
- Rebuild any wishlist emails as FluentCRM funnels.
Customer wishlists stored by YITH won’t carry over. See switching from WooCommerce to FluentCart: what happens to your wishlist for a full checklist and a win-back email you can send.
